Reflection While Reading #1

Tim Tebow started his passion for sports at a very early age. He has two older brothers and a two sisters and all are very competitive. He played everything from baseball to soccer to hockey, and was constantly wanting to train and build his strength. However his father wouldn't let him train with weights because he thought it was "hazardous" to his health before he hit puberty; Which is probably true. He was a very determined little kid though, training with whatever he could find, but mostly with his own body weight with situps and pushups and pullups. With his competitiveness he never really understood how kids could be happy with just the "way they played the game" he always thought what about winning? To him, winning was THE most important thing in the game.

Its nice to see someone with such passion, and for a lot of people it is really inspiring. A lot of people have that passion in something whether it is a sport or something like baking, woodwork etc. Sometimes the passion is only short lived though, you play a sport all through highschool and in leagues outside of school for your whole high school career and then you move onto university or college. Now its not that college and university weigh you down, in fact they offer a lot of opportunities to become a part of teams and clubs, it's a matter of not being as committed; whether it is because you cant make the time any longer or you simply lose passion. Not everyone does though, and for Tim Tebow he stayed very connected to his sports. They were his second priority in life, after family of course. However his passion and continuous training drew a lot of eyes on him because he was one person a lot of high school scouts were after as we will learn further into this book.
